Aquafort Fish Farmers & Farming Community

SME fish farmers currently lose 30-50% of their fish stock monthly to fish health and welfare. They sell less than 60% of the remaining stock. The cost of production to manage this stock is between 75-95%. The feed cost contributes to an average of 80% of operational cost and is continuously rising. The market lacks a better way to provide access to quality and affordable feed and lacks intelligent feeding methods to optimize the entire operations. Due to a significant lack of lending, farmers struggle to start farming, and many are forced to shut down operations. Some struggle to maintain their seasonal operations, pay for feed, or expand to grow their businesses. There’s a gap in distribution and delivery channels to allow farmers to reach broader consumers and for consumers to receive the goods to their doorsteps. There’s a considerable fish production deficit in many African and Asian countries.

Aquafort develops a vertically integrated technology stack accessible to millions of SME fish farmers worldwide in a $28.6BB addressable market. Aquafort provides a unique, integrated SaaS and hardware solution, combining farm management SaaS with a simple yet powerful digital marketplace where farmers can connect with buyers and sellers of farming inputs & outputs. Our low-cost water quality and environmental sensors provide real-time monitoring and collect data that powers our predictive analytics platform, which forecasts production risk factors that impact fish health and welfare. Our value proposition is simple: to maximize yield quality & quantity, increase revenue growth, and lower mortality rates and losses.

On top of that, Aquafort partners with lenders who make it possible for farmers to receive micro-loans to improve and expand their farming operations and to attract more people to start their farming operations to address the significant gap in the fish supply. Moreover, we aim to increase accessibility to food and generate more job opportunities by providing a unique delivery method that helps farmers sell more fish, gives consumers more options to buy, and helps keep fish prices affordable. Aquafort’s technology is powered by strong network effects, maximizing the profitability of fish farmers worldwide and revolutionizing aquaculture, starting with its first port of call: producers.
